Giletta S.p.A. was founded in 1950 as a manufacturer of agricultural machinery, and in 1966 the first and innovative salt spreader designed with the chain-extraction system, capable of spreading all kinds of material without getting stuck, was built. Since then, the company has never stopped innovating and designing new machines and technologies for the Winter Maintenance. In the 2000s, Giletta S.p.A. became part of the Bucher Group, and thus the Winter division of Bucher Municipal was created in union with other companies such as Gmeiner (a German company specializing in the production of salt spreaders for Unimog) and Assaloni (a company with a marked propensity for innovation in the field of road snow removal).

Bucher Municipal is a leading manufacturer of municipal vehicles for street cleaning, snow removal and waste collection for public and private spaces. Municipal is a division of Bucher Industries AG, a company listed on the Zurich Stock Exchange.

In 2019, Giletta S.p.A. – Bucher Municipal brings the Construction Division to life through the birth of Bucher Cosmix, innovative mobile concrete batching plant. Bucher Cosmix combines the extensive know-how accumulated over the years in the winter maintenance business (for example, robustness in hopper construction and reliability of extraction systems) and knowledge in the field of construction acquired over the years through continuous benchmarking with leading industry players.
